Melvin Douglas Shrewsbury, 62, entered into the presence of the Lord, to receive perfect peace and rest Thursday, October 31, 2024. Born November 3, 1961, in Beckley, he was the son of Dennis and Gloria Shrewsbury of Princeton. Mel's earthly life was diminished by (FTD) frontal temporal dementia for several years. He was under the caring hands of the staff at Princeton Health Care Center. He was a graduate of Princeton High School Class of 1980. He was a machinist by trade, and owner of Shrewsbury Machine/Shrewd Precision Archery in New Castle, VA for several years prior to his illness. He had a love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter, golfer, and short archery professionally and competed nationwide until his illness. He was preceded in death by twin brothers, Mark and Kevin, that passed at birth. Left to cherish his memory are his parents Dennis and Gloria; his son, Austin (Angela) and grandson Tanner of Landis, NC; extended family of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity with John Puckett, officiating.  Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 11:00 until 12:00 at the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton.
