Obituary

Melvin Lewis Dunn, 92, of Halls Ridge Road, Princeton, died Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born, October 10, 1930, he was the son of the late Wesley Dunn and Ada Sue Daughtery Dunn. Melvin was a 1948 graduate of Princeton Senior High School. He attended Concord College (Concord University) for 2 years and 3 years at WVU. Melvin worked for Columbia Gas for a short time then he entered the military where he served his country for 2 years. After serving his country, he returned to work for Columbia Gas as an Engineering Trainee then was promoted to District Manager of the Huntington District where he retired and then moved back to Princeton. On June 11, 1955, he married his loving wife Jeanie Queen and for 65 years they shared their love and devotion. Melvin was a believer in God and was a faithful member of the Kee Street United Methodist Church. He was devoted to his wife and family and when she passed away, he was filled with sorrow and tears of grief and joy knowing she was in a far better place. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Jeanie Queen Dunn, one son, Michael Dunn and his wife Debbie. Left to cherish his memory are his son, David Brian Dunn;  Two granddaughters, Melissa Alexander and Kathleen Beach; Two great-grandchildren; Other relatives, Nancy Smith and her son, Keith and his wife Carolyn; Special lady who he thought of as a daughter, Jennifer Burks and her daughter Ashlynne; Special friends, Loice Houck, Claudia Farmer, Sandi Lawrence and Tina McConnell and family. The family has honored Melvin's request that he be cremated with no services. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .
