McGinnis Edward "Mack" Hatfield Jr., 72, of Bluefield, formerly of Welch, died Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Mercer Nursing & Rehab in Bluefield. Born March 26, 1950, in Welch, he was the son of the lake McGinnis E. Hatfield Sr. and Hazel Creed Hatfield. Mack was a graduate of Welch High School.  He attended Alderson Broaddus College, and graduated from Marshall University and West Virginia University College of Law.  Mack practiced as an attorney in Welch, Logan and Mercer County for over 30 years. Survivors include his children, Emily Hatfield of Bluefield, Richard Hatfield of San Diego, CA, and Jana Lynn Hatfield of Morgantown; G randdaughter, Brianna Anderson of Ballard; B rother, Richard Hatfield and wife Nancy of Greensboro NC; S ister, Patricia Dotson of Virginia Beach, VA; Host of nieces and nephews; Also left to cherish the memory of Mack are his many friends, including John Feuchtenberger, a close and devoted friend of over forty years. Among his other attributes, Mack will be best remembered for his smile, friendly disposition, wit and exceptional abilities as an orator and trial lawyer.  In keeping with Mack's wishes there will be no services and he has been cremated.
