Mary Ann Butler McManaway, 90, of Lick Creek, Pipestem, died early Monday Morning, October 13,  2025, at her home with her family at her side. Born December 14, 1934 at Hilltop.  She was the daughter of Curtis and Ina Kincaid Butler.  Mary Ann graduated from Hinton High School and was a member of Browns Chapel Church.  She enjoyed being a farmer most of her life. Mary worked at Pipestem State Park as a cook at Mountain Creek Lodge before retiring.  She loved her family and home.  She enjoyed working in her garden and watching the wildlife on the farm.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband Garnet McManaway, daughter Freda Owings, granddaughter in law, Autumn Ward, sisters Neva Reed, Rosa Keaton, and Wilma Faye Butler.

Survivors include her two children Donna Ward and friend Danny Woodson, son Scotty McManaway, former son in law Donald Ward, and brother Willie Butler.  Nine grandchildren Katlin, Donnie,  Autumn Ward and friend Carlton Tomlinson, Levi Honaker, Roxane McManaway, Kary and Brandon McBride and friend Melanie Hall,  Alicia and Scotty McManaway Jr. Eight great grandchildren Nikeyonna Montgomery, Zamarion Davis, Khamari Tomlinson, Mallory and Emerson Ward, Isabella McBride, Landon McManaway and Makayla Nicholas.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday October 21, 2025, in Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor David White officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.  Friends may visit with the family from noon until the service hour.
