Martha W. Tabor, 83, passed away February 4, 2025, at her home on Greasy Ridge, Princeton, after complications from Alzheimer's Disease. Martha was the daughter of the late Daniel Whittaker and Sarah Milam Whittaker, born August 18, 1941, in Princeton, WV. She was a 1959 graduate of Oakvale High School. Martha married Rudolph "Babe" Tabor on May 14, 1964. She worked several years at Celanese until she gave birth to triplets in May 1966 and became a full time mother and homemaker. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church where she enjoyed working the Welcome Center, while her health permitted, she also loved visiting and ministering to shut-ins with her best friend Carol. Martha loved Southern Gospel Music and attending Praisefest in Pigeon Forge, TN each year. She will be remembered for her love of family, sense of humor, and her love of baking/making desserts. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years Rudolph "Babe" Tabor of Princeton; her children, Sam Tabor of Princeton, Pam (Duane) Blevins of Bluefield, VA, Dan Tabor of Roanoke, VA; her granddaughters, Sarah Blevins, of Jackson, TN and Elizabeth Blevins of Bluefield, VA; her sister, Betty Sizemore and special friends, Cheryl Thomas, Carol and James McKenzie; several nieces and nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Sarah Whittaker, brothers, Roy Whittaker, Frank Whittaker, and sister, Bonnie Pennington. The family would like to express their appreciation to her caregiver and friend Pam Presley, and Compassus Hospice, especially TJ, Janet, Paige, Leighanne and Robbie. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations to be given to the Jimmy Jones Scholarship, Clo Johnston Chapel Church, 984 Halls Ridge Rd, Princeton, WV, 24739. A funeral service for Martha will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton. The service will be officiated by the Revs. John King, Dan Thyng, and Jim Nofsinger. Friends may visit with the family Saturday from Noon until the service hour. Burial to follow in the Whittaker Palmer Cemetery. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com. The Tabor family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
