Markita gained her angel wings on March 5, 2024, flying peacefully away from her home. She was born March 22, 1936, to the parents of Ernest and Leota Vandall in Killarney, WV. Predeceased by husband: Leslie A. Lilly, Jr.; Parents: Ernest and Leota Vandall; Daughter: Karen Rene Lilly Lambert; Brothers: Teddy, Ronnie, and Rickey Vandall; Special friends: Lawrence West and Kerry Davis. Markita was a homemaker the majority of her life, living in Flat Top, Camp Creek, and then Princeton, WV. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her lawn. Survived by her daughter and caregiver: Brenda Smith of Moore, SC; Brothers, Omer G. Vandall (Virginia) of Rainelle, WV and Jerry R. Vandall (Patricia) of Mocksville, NC; Grandchildren: Leslie Wayne Smith (Melissa), Jason Ryan Smith (Kristen), Jeremy Nathaniel Culpepper (Harry), Stephanie Michelle Bowles (Devin), Robbie Allen Lambert (Addison) and Ali Shay Lambert; 7 great-grandchildren and son-in-law, Robert Lambert. Private graveside services were held at Noon, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with the Eulogy performed by her grandchildren.
