Mark David Thompson, age 58, of Bluefield, WV, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Mercer County, WV. Mark was born April 29, 1966, in Princeton, the third son of William and Helen Kade Thompson who preceded him in death. Mark was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rock. He worked as a detailer for Ramey Automotive. Left to cherish his memory are his two brothers, Randell Thompson of Bluefield, WV and Douglas Thompson of Princeton, WV; Also surviving are two first cousins, Connie Kade of Wilmington, DE and Dennis Kade (Deborah) of Daytona Beach, FL; Dennis has two daughters, Elizabeth Kade Haskins (Greg) and their daughter, Virginia Mae of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Lauren Kade Schrock (Laverne) and their son, Declan of Staunton, VA; Very special friends, Dwight and Nancy of Bluefield, VA, Blaine and Debbie of Wright Mtn, , Kristy and Jessee of Lorton Lick Road and Reggie and wife of Bluefield, WV. Mark's request to be cremated has been honored. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church on Wright Mtn Road, Rock, WV with Pastor Blaine Cecil and Kristy Poynter officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Davidson Cemetery, Sandlick Road, Bluefield, WV. Friends may visit with the family from Noon until the service hour at the church. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Mark's memory to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 2059 Wright Mtn. Road, Rock, WV 24747.
