Margaret (Peggy) Whitman Edmunds, 92, of Princeton, died Saturday, 16, 2024, at Hilltop Center, Hill Top, WV. Born February 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Bert Whitman and Georgia Reeves Whitman.

Peggy attended Spanishburg Elementary and Junior High School, Washington College High School, Concord College (University), Marshall College (University) and East Tennessee State College (University).  After graduating from Concord, she taught at Beaver High School while completing her degree at Marshall.  Upon graduating from Marshall she began her college teaching career at Concord where she retired after 36 years as Professor of Accounting. Peggy was a member of the Princeton First United Methodist Church and at the time of her death she resided in Quail Valley.

She enjoyed gardening, hiking, traveling cruising and walking on the beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Art Edmunds, Jr., and her brothers, Billy, Bert, Jr, and Spike Whitman.

There will be no visitation and private graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family has requested in lieu of flowers contributions be made to The First United Methodist Church P.O. Box 304, Princeton, WV 24740 or to the Margaret Edmunds Scholarship Fund, Concord University, P.O. Box 1000, Athens, WV 24712.
