Louise P. Reed, 92, of Bluefield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior early Wednesday morning, March 15, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Born July 15, 1930, in Capels, she was the daughter of the late Charles Parker and Laura DeBoard Parker. Educated in McDowell County, she retired as a Post Master in Wilcoe. She practiced her faith as a member of Carr Memorial United Methodist Church in Glenwood, where she was an active member of the United Methodist Women. Louise loved her Lord, her family, her friends, and her church family so dearly. She was a proud Mountaineer fan and adored her mountain state, where she made her home for all her 92 years. She was passionate about gardening, especially her flower gardens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Reed, two sons, Charles and Lyndon Reed, grandson, Joey Reed, brother, Bill Parker, sisters June Parker and Martha Edmonson, and two half sisters. Those left to cherish her memory are her two children and their spouses, Larry and Patty Reed and Karen and Chuck Daher; five grandchildren, Chris Reed and wife Vicki, Sarah Reed, Jonathan Daher and wife Betsy, Lindsey Daher Baker and husband Alex, Derick Reed and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Maxwell Reed and Jace Daher; and a host of nieces and nephews. Her best friend for many years, Norma Spichek; special friends Pam and James Linkous; devoted caregivers Paula Bishop and Tara Mullins; and her adopted cat, Pickle. Services to celebrate the life of Louise Reed will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 17, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Gerald Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .
