Lois Annamae Mitchell, age 87, met her beloved husband at the pearly gates on the evening of April 6, 2023 at her home after struggling with a prolonged chronic illness. Lois was a graduate of Fairfax High School in 1954. She worked in the Fairfax County School System in the food service department following graduation. She married the love of her life in November 1958 before moving to Princeton, West Virginia. In Princeton, Lois worked for the Mercer County School System in the food service department. During summers when school was not in session, she continued to provide children nutrition at Energy Express of Mercer County. Lois received MasterChef training from the Greenbrier Resort. When not working, she was an active member of several civic organizations including the Homemaker Extension Office and Garden Club where she organized their annual social events and teas. Lois is preceded in death by her parents - Alice and Harold Jeffrey, her husband - Wayne F. Mitchell, a sister – Mary Margaret Rice, and granddaughter - Kristina Taylor. She is survived by one sister - Patricia Harrison, a brother – Harold E Jeffrey Jr, two daughters - Donna (Mike) Rigsby and Joan (Larry Kent Jr.) Taylor, grandchildren Larry Kent (Emily) Taylor III, and Madison (Eric) Patton. The family would like to give special recognition to "Team Lois" – her phenomenal caregivers that went above and beyond to provide excellent care in her final months and days and supported the family during this difficult time. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM., Tuesday April 11, 2023, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Ed Pettus officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.  Friends may visit with the family from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home.
