Obituary

Linda Gail Nichols, 83, of Caldwell Street, Athens, died peacefully Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown with her loving family at her side.

Born October 26, 1942, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Andrews Morgan & Ollie Carroll Morgan.

Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She made friends wherever she went because she had a dearing personality and always had a smile on her face. Linda was a woman of faith and loved reading her Bible. During the 80's she was a realtor serving Mercer County until she found her love for antiques. She owned and operated with her husband the Ole Town Shoppe in Princeton, she loved flea markets, yard sales and auctions looking for that "little treasure". Linda was also a wonderful cook and prepared great meals with love for whoever sat at her table.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Joe Nichols, along with seven siblings, Eloise Harris, Arlon Morgan, Lyndie Morgan, Janet Hill, Donnie Ray Morgan, Max Morgan and Edward Morgan.

Survivors include her children, Steve Cooper & wife Trudy, Kimberly Beth Nichols, stepchildren, Fay Duncan & Sue Edwards & husband Doug, Grandchildren, Brittany Gray & husband Tanner, David Nichols, Meredith Lucas & partner Heather, & Paul Eric Bland & wife Tina. 6 great grandchildren, two siblings, Clyde Morgan & wife Barbara, & Eugene Morgan and a host of niece and nephews.

In honoring Linda's wishes, she has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com.
