Obituary

Leroy B. Stennett Jr., 88, of Princeton, died Friday, May 16, 2025, at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek Va. Born June 22, 1936, in Bluefield, he was the son of the late Leroy B. Stennett and Ella V. Winfrey Stennett. He graduated from Glenville High School and attended Concord College and Bluefield State College. Leroy worked for North American Aviation as purchasing manager until he accepted the position with Princeton Community Hospital as the material manager until his retirement. He was active on many levels, serving as the Charter President for Purchasing Agents and Material Managers, Charter Chairman for Hospital Group Purchasing for West Virginia, Charter Chairman, V H A Mid-Atlantic States. Having served as a board member for Southeastern Hospital Association and nominate for the Board of Material Management of the American Hospital Association. In 1981, he was named West Virginia Ambassador of Management, and a member of the American Society Hospital Association and Material Management. Leroy was a member of the B. P.O.E Lodge 1459, Princeton, AF & AM Lodge 134 of Princeton, Beni Kedem Temple in Charleston, Bluefield Shrine Club. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Rose Loretta Stennett, brother, Robert Y. Stennett and a stepson Joseph Ferguson. Survivors include his children, Robert K. Stennett of Watauga TN. Allen L.  Stennett & wife Jenny of Moyock NC, Michael Stennett & Karen Buzzo of Ripplemead VA, Stepdaughter Elizabeth Hollifield and husband Jeff of Princeton, sister-in-law, Lorraine Fahnestock. Seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. Memorial service to celebrate the life Leroy B. Stennett Jr., will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Dr. Dan Jividen officiating.  Inurnment will be in Monte Vista Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com.  The Stennett family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
