Leona Marie Thompson, 72, of Princeton, died peacefully early Saturday morning, November 23, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. Born August 9, 1952, in Welch, she was the daughter of the late William Oscar Herald and Mildred Marie Puckett Herald.

She was a graduate of Talcott High School and Summers County Vo Tech Center, receiving her LPN certification. Marie had a long career in the health care industry, having retired from Princeton Community Hospital with 42 years of service. Marie loved working words puzzles and watching Fox News.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her first husband Oscar Farley, second husband H.B. Thompson, and her third husband Ray Eller along with twin granddaughters, Lisa Marie and Kara Dawn.

Survivors include her two children, Angel Renee Levitt-Fenton and husband James, William W. Farley and wife Grace; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Dustin, Kaitlyn, Brianna, Brydon and Kinleigh, and 6 great-grandchildren; Three siblings, Norma Garcia, William D. Herald Jr. and Debra Meadows and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 29, 2024, in Athens Cemetery with Pastor Victor Garcia officiating. A private visitation will be held for the family at the funeral home.
