Lena Gray Carter Herald, 85, of Princeton, died peacefully Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Born April 21, 1937, in Tazewell, VA. she was the daughter of the late Lucian Carter & Maude Street Carter. Lena was a former employee with North American Rockwell, L Tech & CWS. For most of her life, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her time at the beach, her flowers, and cooking & baking for her family & friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Albert B. Herald Jr., two brothers, Roy & James Carter. Those left to cherish her memory, her two devoted sons; Albert B. Herald III of Pearisburg VA, Garry Ray Herald & wife Tracey of Covington, TN. Six grandchildren; Jennifer Herald, Jessica Howard, Michael Herald, Hannah Herald, Stephanie Pullium, Sarah Herald, along with 5 great grandchildren; Wesley Howard, Dylan Banner, Carter Howard, Grant Pullium & Clara Pullium. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 2, 2022, from the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton.  Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield VA. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour.
