Obituary

Lawrence Ray Keaton, 86, of Pipestem, passed away suddenly Saturday afternoon, February 14, 2026 at his residence.

Born November 5, 1939, in Mercer County, he was the son of the late Basil and Florence Kirk Keaton. Ray retired from the Dean Company after over 25 years of service to spend time with his family.

Ray loved his Lord and Savior; he was a faithful member of the First Church of God on Mahood Avenue in Princeton. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and reading his Bible.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Nora Faye Trivett Keaton; sibling, Aubrey Keaton, brother-in-law, Tom Keaton; nephew, Greg Keaton.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Michael Ray Keaton and wife, Lisa, James Leroy Keaton and wife, Robyn, and Bruce Allen Keaton and fiancé, Cathy; six grandchildren; Samantha, Jonathan, Eric, Gregory, Madison & Jacob and seven great grandchildren; his sister, Mary Jane Keaton.

Services to celebrate the life of Ray Keaton will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at First Church of God on Mahood Avenue in Princeton with Pastor Ray Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Rocky Mount Cemetery at Pipestem. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at the church. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
