Laura Ellen Blevins, 98, of Kegley, died Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Mercer Nursing and Rehab Center in Bluefield. Born October 17, 1926, in Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur Stephens and Francis Georgia Lowe Stephens.

After receiving her certification in nursing, she worked at Princeton Memorial Hospital and Welch Emergency Hospital. Laura loved the Lord, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed being with family and also sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 64 years, Bobby W. Blevins, three siblings, Bud, Ray, and Bobby Stephens. Survivors include her children, Betty Jo Hanks and husband William and Christopher "Buck" Blevins; Step-mother, Mary Helen Romans; Four grandchildren, Bobby L. Hanks, Lawrence R. Hanks, Jacqueline D. Hill, and Chelsie McIntyre; Four great-grandchildren, Matthew Adams, Brandon L. Hanks, Rena Marie Medina and Skyler Austin Three great-great-grandchildren, Adian, Teghan and Logan; Three siblings, Lirlie Gentry, Shirley Robinson and Tommy Stephens; Special sister-in-law, Donna Gail Marshall; Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 2, 2024, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Bishop Danny J. Meade officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Monday from Noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
