Larry Madison
King
Dec 6, 1941 — Jan 13, 2026
Luke 14:23 "And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."
Dad took that statement as his personal mission.
Larry Madison King of Princeton WV heard the words 'Come, my good and faithful servant" then opened his eyes to meet His Jesus on the morning of January 13, 2026. He was at home surrounded by family.
Larry was born December 6, 1941 in Jolo, WV. He was the oldest of 9 brothers and sisters, Lillian, Douglas, Connie, Terry, Danny Ray (deceased) Randy, Earl and Robin.
He graduated from Princeton High School and served in the US Army Reserve where he received an honorable discharge. After that, he supported his family in a variety of ways but largely doing appliance repair, he was employed by Montgomery Ward for many years and eventually opened his own business King's Appliance Service, which also allowed opportunity for him to share his love for Jesus while doing so! He was of the Pentecostal faith.
Dad enjoyed playing his guitar, fast cars and motorcycles, fishing, tinkering with computers and making others laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents William G and Edith C King.
Survivors include his wife Barbara Hodges King of over 60 years, his daughters Kristie King, Tracie (Anthony) Parker, and Kelly (Curtis "Rocky") Pennington and a son Larry I King (Elizabeth "Buffy")
He was called "Poppy" by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Gabriel Ringgenberg, Carmen Musick and children Ashton, Callen and Emmabeth; Stephanie (Jamie) Carbaugh and children Layla, Tessa, Hunter Dickerson and Jaxon Carbaugh; Alicia Meadows and children Makenzie and Ethan; Byron (Courtney) Gordon and children Scarlette, Emmett, Piper and Aiden; Preston Gordon; Josh (Juanita) Gibson and their sons Xander and Xavier; Alyssa Daugherty her children Austin Spivey and Hailee Delida: Brendon Jones.
