Kathy June Nicewander wife, mother, sister, friend, Kathy  passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 at the Hospice Center at WVU medical center in Morgantown, WV, with her family by her side. Kathy was born in Princeton, WV, April 5th, 1963. She attended Matoaka High School. She loved working with her flowers, preparing country meals, and preserving and canning food like her mother and grandmother before her.  She and Dwayne enjoyed camping in their camper. She was funny and happy and faith-filled. She never met a stranger and was a gentle and kind soul. She was generous and selfless, always putting others first. She loved her family and relished the family get-togethers. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, William L. Phillips; her mother, Virginia Alice Phillips; brothers Donald R. Phillips, and Timothy D. Phillips, all of the Princeton area. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Dwayne, who was constantly by her side; son Michael Thomas of Princeton, WV; Daughter Lindsey Thomas (Lance Johnson) of Greer SC; step-son Davey Nicewander (Elizabeth Warner) of Bluefield, VA; step-daughter Allison Nicewander Riggs (Matthew) of Bluefield VA; Kevin Davidson (Andrea) of Bluefield, WV. In addition she leaves siblings, Nancy Kyle (Dan); William Phillips (Barb); Cindy Ramsey (Jerry Jackson); Rachel Wiley (Gary); Connie Patricia Holdren; and Beverly Oviedo; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, uncles, aunts and cousins.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2025 in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory with Pastor Steve Robinette officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.
