Joyce Ann White, 78, of Mt. Jackson Heights, Athens, was carried into the arms of her loving savior early Saturday, July 22, 2023, with her loving family by her side. Born November 22, 1944, in Princeton, she was the the daughter of the late Alta Arberdeen White and Mildred Marie Long White, and was also preceded in death by a brother David Lee White and a son-in-law Lewis Conner. Joyce graduated from Athens High School in 1963, where she met her husband of 57 years, Danny E. White of Elgood. She was baptized at Mt. Jackson Baptist Church where she was a member for many years, attending faithfully until she could no longer physically do so. Her greatest blessing was being a mother and grandmother. She loved her family, her neighbors, her yard full of flowers, and all the animals and pets that visited her porches frequently for fresh water and treats. Sitting on her porch swing in the sun was her favorite way to spend her free time. She enjoyed sewing, solving crossword puzzles, and cooking her famous mac and cheese and fresh green beans for Sunday dinner with her family, her hands were rarely still. Left to cherish her memory, her husband, Danny E. White, three daughters, Regina Conner of Princeton, Kimberly Hodges & husband Richard of Chilhowie, VA, and Carrie White of Bristol TN., six grandchildren, Katelyn Lester & husband Brandon, Aaron Conner, Madison Hodges, Emily Hodges, Grace Sopsher & Elizabeth Hodges; four great grandchildren, Isabella Delida, Hannah Lester, Kolton Lester, and Dalton Lester; a brother, Billie Joe "Bob" White a host of nephews and nieces, whom she loved like her own. Services to celebrate the life of Joyce White will be held 5:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor David White officiating. Following the service, the family will honor her request, she will be cremated. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Box 308, c/o Carry-out Ministries, Lerona WV 25971. The White family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
