Obituary

On the afternoon of Sunday, June 12, 2022, Joyce Ann Davidson passed peacefully from this life to her eternal home with her family at her side.  Born April 18, 1931, at Montcalm, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Everett White and Lois Bowman White.  She was a graduate of Bramwell High School, a former employee with Consolidated Bus Lines and retired from the Mercer County Board of Education with more than 17 years of service.  Joyce was a faithful and devoted member of the New Hope United Methodist Church where she served on various committees, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and enjoyed decorating the church for various events and holiday celebrations.  Joyce was kind, compassionate and had a witty sense of humor. She loved nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also was talented with quilting and crocheting and enjoyed making beautiful quilts, afghans and other gifts for those she cherished, like her great-grandchildren. Joyce also loved gardening, reading, and enjoying nature.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Kenneth James Davidson (K.D.), along with three brothers, Billy, Sammy & Jimmy White.  Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters: Deborah Eanes & husband Brady, Sherri King & husband Barry; five grandchildren that loved and respected her dearly: Jamie Townley, Randa Bailey (Tom), Meagan Arthur (Brooks), Emily Culp (Chris), Rebecca King-Mallory (Cameron), as well as 13 great grandchildren, two sisters, Nancy Gregory & Dianna Nunn, and a host of nieces and nephews.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Davidson Family Cemetery on Sandlick Road near Princeton with Pastor Jim Reed officiating. Those wishing to attend these services are requested to meet at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton by 1:30 P.M. In honor of their love for her, Jamie Townley, Brooks Arthur, Chris Culp, Cameron Mallory, Barry King, Tom Bailey and Nick Bailey will serve as pallbearers.  Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 4225 New Hope Road, Princeton WV 24740.  The Davidson family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
