Joseph Walter Jarrell, 89, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2025. He was born on February 19, 1936, in Missouri Branch, WV, the fifth of ten children of the late Edwin and Clara Jarrell.

Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Darlene, several siblings, and one grandson (Joey Duncan). He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his five children: Janet Duncan (David), Wanda Kendrick, Billy Jarrell (April Day), Alisa Hess, and Deidre Blankenship (CM). He was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four of his siblings.

A hard-working machinist for many years, Joseph took great pride in his craft. Outside of work, he found joy in his faith, dedicating his time to church and teaching Sunday School. His love for gardening and raising chickens brought him peace and fulfillment.

Joe will be remembered for his unwavering faith and his passion for gardening and birds. His legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will live on through the many lives he touched.

His life will be celebrated on October 17, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road, Princeton, WV.  Reverend Omar Berns and Reverend Stanley Metz, Jr. will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Princeton, WV.  Family visitation will begin at 1130 a.m. Friends may call from 12:00-1:00 PM. Services will begin at 1 PM.
