Jan 19, 1955 — May 17, 2026
Joseph Edward Hodges, 71, of Princeton, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Princeton Health Care Center following a long illness.
Born January 19, 1955, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Joseph Isaiah Hodges and Minnie Margaret Belcher Hodges.
Joe graduated from Spanishburg High School. Prior to his retirement, Joe worked with the Princeton Rescue Squad, Princeton Community Hospital, & Star 95 in Princeton.
Formerly of Lilly Grove, Joe enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing his guitar and harmonica while his health allowed. Listening to gospel music and watching wrestling brought him great joy, though a hot plate of biscuits and gravy might have been his greatest joy of all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betsy Jane Hodges, and siblings, Barbara Jean King and Elden Ray Hodges.
Survivors include his three children, Brittany Hodges of Greensboro, NC, Nancy Hodges of Arlington, VA, & David Hodges of Wytheville, VA. He also leaves behind four grandsons, Dorian, Brandon, Liam & Isaiah as well as a great granddaughter, Adeliegh, along with a sister Brenda Johnston of Princeton.
Crypt side service will be held 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum, Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Those wishing to attend are requested to meet at the cemetery by 11:30 A.M. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memoriaalfd.com
