Jolene Locker Eskew Pennington, 85, of Princeton went to be her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born in Lick Creek, WV on January 5, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Carl Eskew and Josie Butler Eskew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Hillis and Calvin Eskew and one sister, Susan Gabriel.
Jolene was a graduate of Athens High School, attended Concord College and graduated from Bluefield State College as a Registered Nurse. She worked as a personal care nurse, and other nursing positions, but she primarily worked for Dr. Jana Peters in Princeton. She was a lifelong member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Sandy K. Pennington; three children, Dr. Linda Pennington, Dr. Pamela Faulkner, her beloved son-in-law Ben, and Dr. Bob Pennington; three grandchildren, Seth Faulkner, Tyler Faulkner and wife Leanna, and Joseph Pennington; one great grandson, Ian Faulkner. She is also survived by cherished nephew, Dan Gabriel and wife Jennifer and two treasured sisters-in-law, Peggy Ellington and Connie Jackson and husband Joe.
Jolene's gifts were serving others and cooking wonderful meals for so many family, friends and church ministries. She was the embodiment of generosity. She was a most exceptional nurse to her patients while working for Dr. Jana Peters practice. She loved to make people laugh and smile. To know her was to love her. Her joy in life was simply to bring others happiness.
A service to Celebrate the Life of Jolene will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on Hall's Ridge Road in Princeton. The Rev. Dan Thyng will officiate the celebration of her life's service. Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 12 noon until the service hour. Entombment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.memorialfd.com .
