John L Robinson, Jr of Princeton passed away on December 15, 2022, after a brief illness. Born February 2, 1949, in Charleston, he was the son of John L. Robinson and the late Lois Dotson Robinson. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. John was a 1967 graduate of Princeton High School where he was a three-sport varsity letterman in football, basketball, and track and field. He was also an active member of the PHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes, He was a 1972 Summa Cum Laude graduate of West Virginia University School of Pharmacy, RPh and worked as a pharmacist for 27 years in Princeton, Bluefield, Athens, Matoaka, and Welch. One of John's greatest joys in life was his three grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate holidays with them or to attend their athletic and school events. John was a lifelong WVU fan. He attended as many football and basketball games as possible and faithfully either watched or listened to the Mountaineers play. As a longtime member of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church, he was an integral part of the Johnston Chapel Jail Ministry for 22 years, testifying to, and counseling with the incarcerated. Those left to cherish his memory are his father, John L Robinson, of Princeton, son Jeffrey (Lexi) Robinson of Cecil, PA; daughter Julie (Steven) Glatz of Dublin, OH; daughter Carrie Robinson of Columbus, OH; former wife Connie Robinson of Columbus OH, and three grandchildren, Maxwell Robinson, Lucie Glatz, and Matthew Glatz. John is also survived by sisters Donna (David) Jenkins, Sharon (Roger) Elmore, JoAnn (Gary) Winfrey, Debbie (David) Pack, brother Steven Robinson, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on December 19, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Directory, 654 Athens Rd, Princeton, WV 24740 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Dr. John King and Pastor Jim Simmons of Johnston Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive callers at the Memorial Funeral Directory from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor John's memory may make a charitable contribution to the Johnston Chapel Jail Ministry at 984 Halls Ridge Road, Princeton, WV 24739.
