Jo Ann Crews, 93, of Lerona, died peacefully Friday morning, May 5, 2023, at the Rockin' Chair Residential Care at Lerona. Born December 24, 1929, at Pride (Speedway), she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee White and Mary Susan Akers White. Jo Ann was a graduate of Athens High School, Class of 1947, and a faithful member of Painters Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved to work on crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She retired from K-Mart and also worked at Roses Department Store. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her first husband, Roy Lee Crews, 2 ^nd husband Boyd Crews, son Roy Kenneth "Bucky" Crews along with 11 brothers and sisters. She was the last member of her immediate family. Survivors include three children, Debbie Bird and husband Ronnie, Tina Larue and husband Charles, Brenda Pennington and husband Tim; Nine grandchildren; Fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, May 8, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Jeff McVay and Charles Larue officiating. Burial will follow in the White-Pennington Cemetery at Speedway. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Rockin' Chair Residential Care  2103 Pine Grove Road Lerona, WV 25971.
