Jimmy Ray Perdue, Sr., aged 75, of Locust Grove Road, Bluefield, West Virginia, formerly of Pineville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at his residence.
Born on January 29, 1951, in Bud, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Hobert Lee Perdue and Willie Mae Rinehart Perdue.
Jimmy dedicated much of his life to a career in coal mining, beginning work at a young age to support his family. He was known for his engaging discussions on politics and possessed exceptional mechanical skills, able to repair almost anything with an engine. Additionally, he was a master woodworker and carpenter, showcasing his craftsmanship throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Perdue, a Wyoming County Deputy, and his siblings, Carol, John and Frosty “Forest” Perdue.
He is survived by his children Ira “Ted” Webb, Jr., Jimmy Ray Perdue, Jr., Senetha Houck, and Misty McKinney; those he raised as his own, Heather Cook and Joe Haden, II; ten grandchildren; and five siblings.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Directory in Princeton, West Virginia.
