Jimmie Lee
Hendricks (Jim)
Feb 7, 1942 — Dec 30, 2024
Jimmie Lee Hendricks (Jim) of Princeton, West Virginia passed away peacefully in his home December 30, 2024. Jim was born on February 7th, 1942 and raised in Virginia and later in Indiana. He came to faith at age seventeen after attending a performance his sisters were in at the local church. Jim, along with his devoted wife Barbara, were saved in March of '59 and met one year later at Campbellsville University. They married the day after college graduation and their ministry took them all over the United States. Jim's legacy of spreading the good news of the gospel started with his family of origin and extended to the family he created. Jim and Barbara raised their four sons to love the Lord and do His work. Jim's life was his ministry and he was an avid student of the Bible. He planted and pastored churches, discipled believers, and evangelized to non-believers. He wrote books, taught Bible Studies, and in 1990 he began the Messianic work that would define his later years. Along with friends, Jim founded the Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship and became its first president. Jim loved God's creation and spending time on long walks and taking scenic drives. His work and travels took him to many beautiful places, but the hills of Appalachia held a special place in his heart-along with a good bowl or two of ice cream. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Maggie Hendricks and siblings Joy (Morris), Glenda (Stanley), Ronnie, Eddie, and Michael. He is survived by his wife Barbara Hendricks and their four sons Steve (Debra) Hendricks, Darryl (Susan) Hendricks, Jonathan (Kim) Hendricks, Jerry (Joyce) Hendricks, nine grandchildren, Erica (Caleb) Oliver, Katelyn (Sean) Tippett, Erin (Russell) King, Alyssa Hendricks, Daniel (Monica) Hendricks, Elizabeth (Clinton) Repass, Joshua Hendricks, Adam (Lindsey) Hendricks, and Emily (Bailey) Boyd, fourteen great-grandchildren, his sister Mildred Spoon, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and congregants. His presence in our lives will be deeply missed, but the legacy of his life and ministry will continue to bless us for years to come.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 10am-12pm with the funeral to follow at Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Roselawn Cemetery at 2:00P.M. As per Jim's request, donations can be made to the Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship, Israel's Fullness, or Covenant Baptist Church in Princeton.
