Jeffrey (Jeff) Wyatt Akers, 51, of Union Street, Bluefield, died Monday, January 9, 2023, at his residence. Born January 4, 1972, in Bluefield, he was the son of the late Billie Akers and Agnes Riley Akers. Jeff worked in the plumbing and heating business. He loved his family very much. Jeff really enjoyed fishing, playing cards and known for being a "prankster". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Ruth Akers. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Chastity George Akers and her two sons, Cameron Benfield and Charlie Benfield; Siblings, Michael Akers (Kelli) of Charlotte, NC, Ricki Audrick of Cleveland, OH, Vivian Alford of Bluefield, WV, Joetta Ruble (Keith) of Princeton, Jackie Riley and fiancee' Mike Mullins of Princeton; Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive; Special friend, Robbie Wyse of Winston-Salem, NC. The family has honored Jeffrey's request to be cremated. Memorial services to celebrate Jeff's life will be held at 12:00 P.M.
