James C. Overbay, 89, of Princeton, died peacefully Monday, July 3, 2023, at his home.  Born March 15, 1934, in War, he was the son of the late Ancil Overbay and Rosie Jane Dash Overbay.  James was a professional truck driver for more than 65 years, having driven for Smith Transfer, Walkin Motors and Worldwide Equipment.  He was of the Church of God faith. While his health permitted, he enjoyed working around his home, mowing grass, and hunting.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Joyce Hope Overbay, a daughter Linda Overbay along with his 12 siblings.  Survivors include his son, James Kevin Overbay; Grandson, Christopher Joel Overbay.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 10, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with John Puckett officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.  Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
