James” Jim” Howard Harrison

James “Jim” Howard Harrison, 82, of Lerona, died Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at MSA Home Health & Hospice in Richlands, VA. Born October 13, 1943, at Squire, he was the eldest son of the late Carl Harrison & Myrtle Altizer Harrison.

Jim graduated from Welch High School, Class of 1961. Following graduating from high school, Jim serve with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for C & P Communication, Bell Atlantic and retired from Verizon as a supervisor with 20 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Roger Harrison in 2004, siblings, Shirley Farmer, Mary Witten and Jeanita Little.

Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Maggie Louverna “Peggy” Davidson Harrison, stepdaughters Gina Markle & Marijane Hill, siblings, Norma Roberts, Sue “Sandra” Stroupe & Roger Harrison along with a host of step grandchildren, nieces, nephews & cousins.

In honoring Jim’s wishes, he has been cremated. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Chuck Mathena Center, Stafford Common, Princeton WV 24740. Online condolences may be directed to www.mmorialfd.com
