Jacob Charles Blankenship, 46, of Princeton, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at his home. Born February 16, 1979, in Beckley, he is the son of Shelia Cook-Long of Princeton and the late Morris Blankenship. After graduating Pike View High School, Class of 1997, Jacob attended Concord University where he received his bachelor's degree in business administration. He served as the director of food and beverages at Pipestem State Park for 20 years. Jacob had a big heart, a memorable laugh, and loved his family and pets. Jacob was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Miami Dolphins, White Sox and WVU football. Along with watching his favorite sports teams, he enjoyed playing golf and basketball. Jacob also enjoyed fishing and reading and was a phenomenal cook. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Shelia Cook-Long; the mother of his two children Jamie Yahya-Blankenship; sons, Jackson and Josiah Blankenship; his siblings, Richard and Josh Blankenship, and Cerena McCormick and husband James; and stepmother Claudette Blankenship. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Dan Thyng speaking. Friends may gather from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour. It is highly encouraged for anyone who knew Jacob to please share a fun or special memory under the guestbook link at www.memorialfd.com.
