Obituary

Helen Mae Mahone, 71, of Red Knot Street, Princeton, died Monday, September 23, 2024, at her home. Born, May 6, 1953, in Welch, she was the daughter of the late Oyd D. Whitaker and Gladys Belcher Whitaker.

Helen loved her Lord, loved being with her family and singing in church. She was a wonderful caring person who had a compassionate heart for serving others. Helen was a member of the New Horizon Church of the Nazarene in Athens.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ralph Mahone, two children, Scott and Renee Mahone, and a nephew, Jerry Gibson.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Rosalee Gibson and Connie Williamson both of Princeton; Special nephew, Michael Gibson of Rocky Mount, VA; Special great-nephew, Tyler Gibson.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Helen Mahone, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 27, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Alvin Gearhart officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
