Harriett Catherine Hood, 89, of East Drive, Princeton, died surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at Stone Rise Health, Princeton. Born August 27, 1932, in Peterstown, she was the daughter of the late Albert McCoy and Minnie Whitlow McCoy. Harriett was a loving wife daughter, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church, a homemaker, loved her family, enjoyed her flowers and was an avid mall walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denny LaVerne Hood, Sr., one son, Denny L. Hood, Jr., siblings, Dona Sinclair, James McCoy, Albert McCoy and Mattie Jane Pensule. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dona Eileen Jones and husband Allen; Grandchildren, Tiffany Wohlford, Jody Jones, Joshua Jones, Denny Hood, III and Angela Hampton. Four great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Tanner, Jade and Blake; Daughter-in-law, Rena Hood; Sister-in-law, Doris Lynch; Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Harriett Catherine Hood, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 28, 2022, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory with Pastors Larry Dyer and Blake Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.  Family will serve as pallbearers.
