Glenda Maxine White, 78, of Old Wagon Road, Speedway, WV, received her wings, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at PCH-Bluefield. Born March 1, 1945, in McDowell County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Proffitt and Cora Barrett Proffitt. Glenda was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Glenda loved her Lord, her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and also her church family. She was a member of Ceres Baptist Church where she was very active in all phases of the church and also enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and was a 1963 graduate of Spanishburg High School. Glenda had worked in the office for Dr. Shah and retired from Dr. Phillip Robertson's practice where she was office manager. Glenda was short in stature but had a heart of gold. She will live forever in our heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband and the love of her life of 43 years, Herman Dale White, her son, Fairley Dale White, two brothers, Roy Proffitt and Bobby Proffitt. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Aliceson Brown (Randy); Five grandchildren, Jessica Sizemore (Richard), Brittany Mullins (Jessee), Bruce Davis and finacee (Brodi), Fairley Dale White II and Gracie White; Twelve great-grandchildren; One brother, Larry Proffitt (Carol); Two sisters, Elaine Richardson (Jerry) and Patti Workman; Several nieces, nephews and church family also survive. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Glenda White will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 23, 2024, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor James Mooney officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pennington-White Cemetery in Speedway.  Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
