Glen H. Hornbuckle, Jr., 87, of Axton, VA, formerly of Princeton, peacefully went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Born, April 5, 1934, in Davy, he was the son of the late Glen H. Hornbuckle, Sr. and Francis Hornbuckle. Glen loved the Lord and also served his country honorably in the U.S. Marine Corp. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Princeton. Glen had worked part time for several years as a funeral assistant for Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Swartz Hornbuckle. Left to cherish his memory are his loving family, Sue Gentry and husband Tom who was his primary caregiver, Tom Hornbuckle and wife Peggy, Marcia Scott and husband Neal and James Hornbuckle and wife Pam; Several loving nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 4, 2022 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens (Garden of the Cross) with Pastor Ray Jones officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:30 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Those attending the services are requested to meet at the funeral home no later than 1:45 P.M. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com. The Hornbuckle family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
