Gilbert Randall "Randy" Witt, 75, of Oney Gap, Princeton, passed peacefully Thursday evening, October 5, 2023, at his home with his loving family by his side. Born July 12, 1948, in Tazewell, VA, he was the son of the late James Gilbert Witt & Emily Waddell Witt Bailey. Randy was a graduate of Princeton High School and retired from the State of West Virginia, as a mine inspector with over 39 years of service. While Randy's health was good, he enjoyed hunting, fishing & his bird dogs. Randy was active with the Greater Princeton Little League for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Brenda Smith Witt, son Steven Wayne Witt, great grandchild Xavier, along with four siblings: Rusty Witt, Gail Casey, Joyce Parish & Timothy Witt. Survivors include his two sons: Thomas Witt & wife Lisa, & Robert Witt. Two grandchildren, Dakota Witt & wife Shenandoah, Brenna Witt, one step great grandchild Declan Harrison-Witt. One sister Becky Witt. Several nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate the life of Randy Witt will be held 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, October 10, 2023, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Don Dickerson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 P.M. until the service hour. The family has honored his wishes, he has been cremated.
