Geraldine H. Buckner, 83, of Rocky Gap, VA, died early Sunday morning, October 13, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born September 14, 1941, in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Ira Franklin Hodges and Jo Anna Hudgins Hodges. For many years, Geraldine worked for Tultex and Sam's of Bluefield, VA.

Geraldine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister who enjoyed scrapbooking, watching TV, crocheting but most of all being with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 57 years Robert MacArthur along with eight brothers and two sisters.

Left to cherish her memory include her three children, Lorri Williams (Greg), Robin Buckner, and Robert "Bob" Buckner II (Pam);

Six grandchildren, Andrew Stowers (Ashley), Ethan Stowers (Jenna), Amanda Smith (R.J.), Gregory Williams (Brianna), Mahalia Lewis (John), Nathan Richard (Chasity); Eight great-grandchildren, Levi Stowers, Kyleigh Wolford, Garrett Stowers, Oaklyn Smith, Carter Richard, Lula Lewis, Zane Stowers and Sadie Jane Smith; Several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Geraldine Buckner will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 18, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Mark Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Dublin, VA.  Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
