Gary Wayne Reed, 80, of Princeton, died Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Glenwood Healthcare Center. Born May 7, 1946, in Spanishburg, he was the son of the late William Preston Reed & Zena Bradshaw Reed. Gary graduated from Princeton High School in 1964.

Gary served his country proudly with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Gary was a devoted and longtime member of the First Christian Church on Straley Avenue in Princeton, where he served on the Deacon and was on the property committee. He retired from the WV Turnpike with 20 years of service.

Gary loved the outdoors, working in his yard, reading western and sitting on the front porch.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his siblings, William P. Reed Jr., Richard M. Reed & Randy Reed.

Survivors include his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Judy Dawn Rorrer Reed, daughter Michelle Haynes & husband Darrin, grandson, Nicholas Haynes & wife Kate Sheblak, one great grand-daughter, Elliott Sheblak Haynes.

Services to celebrate the life of Gary Reed will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 26, 2026, at First Christian Church on Straley Avenue in Princeton with Pastor Steve Janning officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour at the church.
