Gary Lee McLamb, 75, of Coalwood, died peacefully Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026, at his home with his family at his side.
Born October 14, 1950, at Tampa, Florida, he was the son of the late Curtis McLamb & Jewel “Mimi” Strickland McLamb.
After graduating from high school, he entered the service with the U.S. Army, where he served for more than 20 years, & a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. While in the service, he earned a degree in engineering. Following his time in the military, he worked for the Federal Prison System as an engineer. He was a devoted veteran with the Army special forces; he loved serving his country & was a proud veteran.
Gary loved spending time with his wife, family and his dogs. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle every day he could. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jennifer “Cissi” Alger McLamb.
Those left to cherish he memory, children, Chad & Nicole McLamb, Emily & Shawn Rowe, & Kevin Archer, grandchildren, Olivia & Vance McLamb, James, Autumn & Lily Profitt, Laikulyn & Lydia Rowe. Sisters, Jan McLamb Brisson & Robert, Julie McLamb MacDonald, Dawn McLamb Rickard. Nephews, Guy, Ryan, Derek, and Franklin “Bub” Thomas Alger III, niece Halen Patsey, Cousin Trudy Martin and his faithful four-legged companions, Jake, Bear & Kodi.
