Garnet Lillian Rutledge Austin, 91, of Lee St., Princeton, died Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Princeton Health Care Center. Born May 15, 1931, in Matoaka, WV, she was the daughter of the late George Rutledge and Ora Mae Anderson Rutledge. Garnet was a loving homemaker, mother, grandmother, and sister. While her health permitted, Garnet was an active member of Rich Creek Baptist Church prior to attending Christian Fellowship Chapel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Cecil T. Sigmon and Ray H. Austin; son, Michael Sigmon; and four sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dan Sigmon, and wife, Carolyn, Rhonda Harbo and husband, Nick, Jeff Sigmon and wife, Fran; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; Four siblings, Iris Underwood, Joyce McGee, Brenda Belcher and Sharon Ford; Many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, May 1, 2023, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton, with Pastor Jamie Mattox officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
