Gale Paige Spires Ratcliffe, 77, of Cornfield Road (Black Oak), died Wednesday, January 11, 2023, in Bowers Hospice House in Beckley. Born, July 27, 1945, in Norfolk, VA, she was the daughter of the late Melvin John "Buddy" Spires and Ruth Tribble Spires. Gale was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She loved her Lord, her family, and genealogy. Gale was a graduate of Oscar Smith High School in South Norfolk, VA, and attended nursing school. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bluefield, VA. Gale was the owner of Ratcliffe Bail Bonding for 35 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Marvin E. "Pete" Ratcliffe and a daughter, Karin Ratcliffe, grandson Tyler Cappa and brother Lee Schultz. Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Kimber McMillion and husband Curt, of Charleston, WV, Kristina White and husband Mike, Kandice Browning and husband Jim all of Princeton; Four grandchildren, Hunter Warner, Michaela Butler-Ansley, Krystle Angle and Tori Cappa; Six great-grandchildren, Kylah, Bo, Gracyn, Adalynn, Bryntlee and Caison; One brother, John Carl Spires. Memorial services will be held, at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, January 15, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 122 Fairway Street, Bluefield, VA 24605 with Brother Ed Sheridan officiating. Private graveside services will be held, Monday, January 16, 2023, at the Ratcliffe Family Cemetery in Princeton. Family will serve as pallbearers. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com . The Ratcliffe family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
