Freddie "Rusty" Arnold Howard, II, 61, of Peterstown, WV, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Born June 18, 1963, in Princeton, WV, he was the son of Freddie A. Howard and the late Carol J. Bowling Howard. Rusty graduated from Princeton Senior High School, Class of 1981. After finishing a long career as owner/operator at the family-owned business, Fred and Jack's Auto Salvage, he became a sales representative for Crest Industries. Rusty lived with a passion for life, approaching each day as a blessing. He often said, "The world needs more kindness" and carried it out by looking for ways to help others. His greatest act of helping was demonstrated by guiding others out of addiction through sponsorship. Everyone who knows him likely has a favorite "Rusty-ism" they will carry with them to keep his memory alive as he was known for always being one to make those around him laugh, no matter what kind of day they were having. Additionally, Rusty was a passionate sports fan. He loved cheering on the WVU Mountaineers, win or lose, and playing golf. While golf was his favorite hobby, his greatest love was his family. Rusty was preceded in death by his mother, Carol J. Bowling Howard. In addition to his father, Freddie, survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Kelly B. Howard; daughter, Catessa Howard-Lambert and spouse, Scotty; brother, Chris Howard and fiancé, Amie; and niece Taryn Howard. Friends and family are invited to Rusty's Celebration of Life which will be held at the Fountain Springs Golf Course, Peterstown, WV, on May 31, 2025 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
