Floetta Thompson, 94, of Princeton, left to be in the sweet arms of Jesus Thursday night, June 20, 2024, at her home with her family by her side. Born July 16, 1929, in Ingleside, she was the daughter of the late Charles Loyd Jones and Annie Mae Lilly Jones. Floetta was formerly employed by the Virginian Hotel in Princeton and the Matz Hotel in Bluefield. She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, William Hobert Thompson, along with three brothers and one sister. Those left to cherish her memory, five children, Eugene Thompson, Roger Thompson, Jerry Thompson, David Thompson and Patricia Worrell. Two sisters, Thelma Stump and Christine Adkins. Six grandchildren, Billy and Brian Thompson, Crystal Marie Lawson, Amber, Tonya, and Heather Worrell. Three great-grandchildren, Austin and Brayden Thompson, and Haley Worrell. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Jamie Mattox officiating. Burial will follow in Oakvale Cemetery in Oakvale. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the service hour. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com. Her family will serve as pallbearers. The Thompson family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory and Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
