Evelyn Gay Bauguess, 97, of Myrtle Beach SC formerly of Princeton, went to be with Jesus early Wednesday morning, July 31, 2024. Born April 30, 1927, in Elgood, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Beatrice Easter Akers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Buck Bauguess, along with several siblings: Faye Blankenship, Ruby Mann, Ralph Akers, Harry Akers and Ona Mae Cox. Evelyn was a member of the Grand Strand Community Church in Myrtle Beach, SC and a former member of Landmark Church of God and First Church of God in Princeton.  Evelyn was a faithful witness, she loved reading her Bible, and was a devoted prayer warrior. While her health permitted, she enjoyed working in her garden, and doing Search-A-Word puzzles. Those left to cherish her memory, her two devoted and loving children, Cathi Campion and Bucky Bauguess; Four grandchildren who loved her dearly, Bob Campion, D J Campion (Summer), Amber Ware and Megan Bauguess; Three great-grandchildren, Sierra Bauguess, Sydney Ware and Jet Ware; Sisters, Edna Roberts and Alma Sizemore; Several nieces and nephews also survive. A home going celebration will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 6, 2024, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Jeff Valentine and Scott Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in the Elgood Cemetery at Elgood. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Her family will serve as pallbearers.
