Obituary

Eleanor Gay White, 84, of Pipestem, WV passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 9, 2023.  Ellie grew up in Davy, WV and graduated from Concord University along with her husband of 63 years, James Edward White.  Ellie had a 30-year career in education beginning as an elementary teacher, then as an administrator, and ending as a school counselor which she especially found rewarding.  After retiring from education, Ellie became a published author writing two novels entitled "Squire's Legacy" and "Maggie: For the Love of a Rover".  Additionally, Ellie and her husband Jim owned and operated Nostalgia Inn, a bed-and-breakfast in Pipestem, WV for 20 years.  Ellie enjoyed many hobbies in her lifetime including playing the piano, traveling the world, all types of board games and cards, and playing tennis.  She will be dearly missed and always remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.

Ellie is survived by her husband, James Edward White, children Anna Lynn Ferrarraccio, Mary Ellen and Greg Sell, and James Brandon White, grandchildren Angela Celi, James Sosa, Sarah Moore, Eva Sell, Chase White, and Taisley White. We request all of Ellie's loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at Pipestem Spa and Event Center on August 5th, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
