Elaine Crews Harper, 79, of Princeton, died from injuries received from an auto accident on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Wythe County VA. Born July 17, 1944, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Henry Clay Crews Jr. and Mary Lee Skinnell Crews. Elaine was a member of Carr Memorial United Methodist Church on Glenwood Park Rd. in Princeton since 1944 where she sung in the choir and was the Sunday School Superintendent. She also volunteered at Tender Mercies Food Bank in Princeton from 2005-2021. Her career as a healthcare professional spanned nearly 60 years as an RN and then as a Nurse Practitioner in West Virginia, Virginia, Washington, DC, and Florida. She held 7 professional licenses and was a member of 3 Professional Nursing Organizations. She truly loved her job and her patients. Elaine was also a well-known member at the Princeton Elks Lodge as well as the Mercer County Moose Lodge, where she made so many great memories with friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Gracie and Rowan Carr, along with a brother Ralph Edward Crews and sister Rebecca Sue Crews. Those left to cherish her memory, her daughter, Tamra Stephenson and son-in-law John; Grandchildren, Brianna Carr and husband Tim, Bethany Banks and husband Chris, and Zachary Wine, along with great-grandchildren, Chloe Richards, Riley Banks, Everly Banks, Aubrey Banks, Mila Carr, Lyra Carr, and Baby Wine on the way, as well as Brother, Dr. Michael Crews and Sister, Cornelia Alexander. She will also be missed by several nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends. A memorial service will be held Thursday January 4, 2024 at 12 Noon at Carr Memorial United Methodist Church .
