Obituary

Dwayne Dale Phillips, 62, of Van Alstyne TX, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in Dallas. Born June 15, 1960, in Princeton, he was the son of Lorna Lee Parker Phillips and the late Jack W. Phillips of Princeton. Dwayne was a graduate of Princeton High School and received a engineering degree from Bluefield State College. He moved to Raleigh NC to work for Northern Telecom, then transferred to Texas. He became a project manager for various companies needing telecom communication projects, sometimes taking him to other countries or extended stays in other states. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and nephew, and friend. Dwayne was a collector of guns, motorcycles, various hobbies, but mostly friends whom he shared his wealth of knowledge on practically any subject. In addition to his father, he was proceeded in death by his grandparents Ruth and Fred Phillips and Burton and Lena Parker. He is survived by his mother, Lorna Phillips of Princeton; His sister and his brother-in-law, Cheryl Phillips McKesic and Roy McKesic; His niece, Andrea Harvey of Elkview in Charleston, and several cousins. The family has honored Dwayne's request that he be cremated. Memorial services to celebrate Dwayne's life will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 23, 2022, from the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Kenny Hylton officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 noon until the service hour at the funeral home. After the service, a reception will be held at the Melrose Community Church on Eades Mill Road, in Princeton. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com .
