Dorothy Elizabeth Palmer, 87, of Princeton, died Monday, March 13, 2023, at the Princeton Health Care Center.  Born September 16, 1935, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late Bogle Harry Duncan and Ada Gillespie Duncan. Dorothy was a graduate of Bluefield High School and retired from GTE/ Verizon with 27 years of service and never missed a day of work. She was a faithful member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Princeton, WV. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Ronald Palmer, along with three siblings, Willard Duncan, Clyde Duncan and Fannie Marsico. Survivors include her two children, Gary Lee Palmer and husband Thomas Lardner Jr.; Linda Rae Cooke and husband Ronald A. Cooke Jr.; Two grandchildren, Christopher Michael Brallier; Crystal Rae Bruce and husband Christopher J. Bruce; One great-grandchild, Abigail L. Brallier; One brother Otis Duncan along with many other family members. Service of celebration will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, March 20, 2023, at Maranatha Baptist Church on the Oakvale Road, Princeton, WV with Pastor J.P. Mays officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Friends may visit with the family Monday from noon until the service hour at the church. Men of the church will serve as pallbearers.
