Doris Jean Kelly, 91, of Pine Grove Road, Lerona, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 16, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 13, 1935, in Hurricane, she was the youngest child of the late Alfred O. Edwards and Lelia Bird Edwards. Doris graduated from Hurricane High School and the beauty academy in Huntington. She enjoyed working as an independent beautician before embracing her most treasured role - wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a dedicated member of the Lerona United Methodist Church, the Athens Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Willing Workers at Painters Chapel, and the West Virginia Home Extension as a 4-H Leader and member of the Homemakers Club. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and serving her community, but her life's greatest calling was caring for her family. She was a mother not only to her own children, but to many others who found love, guidance, and acceptance in her home. She welcomed everyone with an open heart, caring for them as if they were her own, and her kindness left a lasting impact on countless lives. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones and found her deepest joy in making memories around a crowded table. Her home was the heart of her family - a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. She created a life filled with warmth, generosity, and cherished traditions that will continue for generations. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Kinder Kelly; two sons, Bryan Matthew Kelly and Robert Kinder Kelly Jr. (Bobby); a granddaughter, Kayla Hope Kelly; and all eight of her siblings. Those left to hold her memory dear include her children and their spouses: Sarah and Jim Weber, Aaron and April Kelly, Mayla Yoacham Kelly, and Shawn and Diana Kelly; nine grandchildren: Gretchen Weber and fiancé Jarrod Polk, Benjamin and Brianna Weber, Cassie and Tony Prevette, Grace and Trevor Jones, Olivia Kelly, Janae and James Cadwallader, Desiree and Peyton Perkins, Mary Ann and Michael Barnum, and Robert Kelly; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 25, 2026, in the Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton, WV, with Mike Frank officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from noon until the service hour. Online condolences may be shared with the family via www.memorialfd.com
