Donzie Ray Whittaker, Jr., 52, of Wood Street, Princeton, died Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Lewis-Gale Hospital in Salem, VA. Born, November 28, 1970, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Carol Jean Thompson Whittaker of Princeton and the late Donzie Ray Whittaker, Sr. Donzie loved his family and also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked in the sawmill industry and enjoyed collecting baseball cards, hunting and rooting for his favorite NFL team, the Miami Dolphins. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ceta Akers Whittaker; His mother, Carol Jean Whittaker; Two children, Caleb Michael Masri and Jordan Tray Whittaker; Two brothers, Tim Dawayne Whittaker (Angie) and Jason Walter Whittaker (Anita); Nieces, nephews, several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, April 14, 2023, in the Chapel of Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with his Uncle Danny Whittaker officiating.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
